i have a tattoo appointment booked on wednesday. I just needed a new accessory. my best friend was visiting last month and I wanted to get tattooed while they were here, but the artist didn’t have any openings so Wednesday it is.
I too had one of those long breaks between active tattooing. I just started getting tattoos again - and getting flash for the first time ever - in recent years. I’m old enough now not to regret it hahaha. Flash was such a game changer. Finding the artist, getting into their style, vs having to come up with something on your own.
I thought that was some of the best advice given - letting go of having to execute ideas exactly your way and embracing what an artist is good at and getting what they are excited to tattoo.
At my most recent studio visit, a lot of the appointment chat was about how bookings are slow and the rise of conservatism + financial strain is putting people off of tattoos right now. I loved this piece & the tattoos featured. It's refreshing in the wave of people being outspoken on tattoo regret and removal. Live with your decisions - they're part of you now! (& bold will hold!!!)
